What is assault and battery?

Generally, under Washington law, the term assault includes both the threat of violence, and  any violent or unwanted touching.  Assault charges can be based on threats or on actions such as hitting, kicking, punching,  pushing, or spitting, and can include striking or grabbing an object closely related to the victim, such as a purse or vehicle.   I have experience representing clients accused of any such charges.
